COURSE DESCRIPTION: The 7-Color Cuisine course is based on the recently published book 7-Color Cuisine - A Cookbook and Nutrition Guide by Marcia Zimmerman, CN. This course will introduce you to the powerful phytonutrients found in a variety of colorful foods. You'll learn everything from the economics of shopping at the Farmer's Market to the health benefits of incorporating a variety of colors in your diet. You will discover how easy it is to replace white flour and white sugar with healthy alternatives, and we're not talking Splenda®! You will discover that the rainbow colors found in foods contain healing nutrients that may be our greatest preventive tool against disease.

EXAMS: Students are required to pass five online tests to receive their completion certificate* and token gift from NOW University.
Through a series of online video lessons, students are invited into Marcia's kitchen where they will learn through video interviews and recipe demonstrations how to pack nutrition onto the plate while adding flavor to the palate. The 7-Color Cuisine plan is for all who want to improve their diets but don't know where to begin.
COURSE OUTLINE:
This course is divided into four sections:
I. Get Set
Come on in and get ready for a new way of eating and a new way of cooking when you learn about alternatives that you can substitute for the unhealthy foods in your pantry. We'll show you what a healthy, well-stocked pantry looks like!
II. Go Shopping
Tag along with us as we find the best places to shop for fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables. We'll show you how to clean and store fresh fruits and vegetables for extended shelf life and how to save time in meal preparation.
III. Fix Meals
Join us in the kitchen and let us help you to learn how to incorporate colors into your diet to make simple but elegant, healthy meals in 30 minutes or less.
Cooking Demonstrations
You won't want to miss these video demos as we have some fun and create some delicious recipes ~
IV. Savor Your Food
You are cordially invited to our Dinner Party where you will learn to enjoy your meals and savor your foods through friendship, laughter, abundant blessing and a beautiful presentation of color appealing to both the eye and the palate!
Requirements for this Course:
- This is a self-study program allowing each student to complete the program at their own pace. We strongly recommend that each student complete the entire program in 3 months or less;
- Each student is required to have a copy of the book 7-Color Cuisine to successfully complete the program;
- Each student will be required to have a computer with Internet and E-mail access to successfully complete the program;
- The program is interactive through audio and video and reading assignments from the book, 7-Color Cuisine;
- Each student will be required to pass a total of five online, open book tests at the end of the course to earn their completion certificate.*
Program Recognition - Upon successful completion of the 7-Color Cuisine Course:
- Each student will be awarded a Certificate of Completion for completing the 7-Color Cuisine course at NOW University*;
- Each student will receive an "official" re-usable Chico shopping bag as seen in the video lessons upon successful completion of the course.
